Heronemus Birthday Party
We spent this past weekend in Omaha celebrating Rebekah's birthday with the Heronemus family. We met at the Henry Doorly Zoo Saturday and spent the morning and afternoon looking at all the different animals.
Right inside the zoo, we stopped to climb on the lions and take some pictures with Rebekah, Cousin Harvey, Aaron, and daddy.

One of my favorite animals to watch was the orangutan. They were so funny as they'd climb onto the fence and then put their arms out, asking for food from the people there. Some people would throw popcorn, although I don't think any actually got to the animals.

Aaron and daddy by the penguins. Apparently, Aaron was very excited about this display!Saturday night, we went to the hotel and went swimming, then had Rebekah's birthday party. She was very excited to get some new dolls and a kitchen set for her doll house, as you can see in the picture below.
She also got a sleep mat to bring to Mother's Day Out, which starts on Tuesday. She slept in it Sat night and loves to carry it around on her shoulder. When we got home on Sunday, she laid it out and put Daddy to bed, which included reading him a story!
What party would be complete without the cake? Rebekah and I made ice cream cone cupcakes, with pink cake mix of course! Aaron definitely enjoyed eating one!
Since the whole Heronemus clan was together, we decided to take a new family picture on Sunday morning. After that, we went over to Offutt AFB for the air show. It was very cool! We had beautiful weather so it was very enjoyable to walk around and look at the different planes and watch the flying. We headed home Sunday afternoon very tired, but very happy to have spent the weekend with the family. Thanks for helping us celebrate Rebekah's birthday!
Aaron loved watching the airplanes flying! He would point and look at them, and after watching them all afternoon, he has a new word-"apane"!
Although we didn't wait in line to walk through any of the larger planes, Rebekah was able to look in one and then she and Aaron sat in a couple smaller planes.
